Meet Victoria!

Hi there! To make a long story short, I'm building New Mama Goose because it's what I wish I had when I became a mom.

Here's the long version of that story. . .

When I became pregnant, I quickly realized that this was an experience unlike any other. I was living in New York City and didn't have any friends at a similar stage in life. I looked around at the existing options to make connections (Facebook mom groups, Peanut, etc.) and found it was difficult to build my "village" of both mom friends.

Despite the challenges, I was lucky to create genuine, meaningful friendships with other moms in my community expecting around the same time as me. And what a difference it made! I truly cannot overstate how much having those connections made me feel seen and heard and supported, and any virtual groups I was part of paled in comparison.

Fast forward, and our lives turned upside (now that's a story for another time!), and my husband and I decided to relocate to Lancaster, PA just before our child's first birthday. We had family nearby, but no local friends! Time to build my village again. . . and again, the other channels that existed just didn't cut it. There were more playgroups and church groups here, but with a 9-5 job, none of them would ever work with my schedule.

Then my aha moment! Making mom friends is hard. But that's not the only challenge or the only people you need to feel supported. There are so many services you access for the first (and often only) time during early motherhood. The doulas, lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, etc., etc.

Also, when I got married, I had Zola to walk me through what types of vendors I should consider and who was local to the wedding location. Why wasn't there something like that to help me connect with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum service providers?

New Mama Goose is aspiring to solve both problems through a well-done and locally-based platform (website/app) that helps you connect with mom friends and pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood service providers. 🦢

New Mama Goose will do the legwork of finding trusted providers and other local moms with similarly aged kids, complementary schedules, and, most importantly, other women who are looking to make new connections!

I'm all about quality over quantity and want to help make meaningful connections that grow far beyond introductions by New Mama Goose.

If you're a mom looking to build your village, or "find your flock" as I like to say now, come join us! We're launching in South Central PA (Lancaster, Dauphin, and York Counties) this summer, and this is just the beginning!
